I am one of those people that does not get into the feel of Christmas until after turkey day. Then I want at least a week break before I begin Christmas. For me it the beginning of giving thanks for all my blessings from God and culminates with the Ultimate blessing, celebration of Christ’s birth.
For me it is truly a season of thanks, for I have been blessed with a nice home, good food, nice clothes, good friends and nice surroundings. God truly supplies all my needs and I have a few left overs for some self indulgence/entertainment.
I found the neatest little shop in a neighboring town and I got permission to take some pictures in the store. I would like to share some thanksgiving decorations that were in the store.
Some are very simple but create a very festive air.
The store was loaded with all kinds of little items to decorate with.
As the seasons change I change my decorations but I will not put up Christmas before Thanksgiving is over.
Now to go find me a turkey, heard one gobbling down main street last week…. gotta go check it out. The turkeys have been sparse around here this year.

I think I'd be right there with you on the Christmas spirit John except I'm involved with our church music group that sings Christmas music we've written even before it's Thanksgiving do to popular demand. I used to balk at it a little but it really does help me love the season and it's not just the classics. That is one need little shop! How wondeful! I pray you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Love the shop and I wish I could browse it as well. I always go into those places when I find one and hope to resist spending too much.
Oh I can see by the photos I would love that shop. Yes my family in the states will be celebrating Thankgiving soon. I have done it already in Canada. The weather here is snowing and very cold. Hard to believe I was still harvesting lettuce from under a protective cover just last week. Actually yesterday I pried the frozen cover off to get the last of my lettuce and dig the last of my leeks. I still have Kale out there that can freeze and I can still use. So glad to be finished in the garden finally. The ground is frozen solid now. Have wonderful week. Hugs Carrie
Christmas's Past as a child, meant excitement and presents, and magical times. The religious side was brought into being when we were taken to church and the sound of the wonderful choir singing will stay with me for the rest of my life. Magical times, and now I'm grown it's shifted slightly, I feel Christmas is a personal thing,in that so much commercialism has changed it into 'how big your present will be and how much money spent'...but I try not to
dwell on that side of it. It's a time almost of reflection, and trying not to put on too much weight with the food on offer. The turkey will be stuffed?...that's how I always feel!! ;-)
