The Puffery of Guilt Mongers

20% of the children in the US are hungry.  Boy that statement will catch ones attention.  1 in 5 children suffer from hunger is the implication.

When I first saw that I was angry.  Initial thoughts were, why the hell is that happening.  With all the government programs available, no one in this country should go hungry.  If a child is going hungry, some one needs to have a conversation with some parents.  I was a little put out and began to watch closely and see if I could notice thing to that effect in children in passing.

Then it dawned on me what they were talking about, people on food stamps.   Latest statistic is; there are 48 million people in the US on food stamps.  Using this, the group putting out the PSA, states that one in five children are going hungry because their parents are on food stamps.  What a stretch.  Here a country is being generous by providing tax funds for these families to have something to eat and a group is bending the spectrum to fit an agenda of shamefulness.

This an example of how a stats can be distorted and have half truths added to generate shame in the hopes people will provide more to their treasury.  Shame is used by many to generate donations to their cause.  When on looks at these organizations, roughly 80% of the money raised goes to the administration of the group and the rest goes somewhere.

then look at that figure, 48 million people on food stamps.  For a country that is pretty embarrassing to have that large of a percentage on government dole.  So I ask the question of the government, why have you failed these people that you have to give them a hand out.  Living on hand outs does not produce pride.

As a country is this something to be proud of?  Like it or not, it is a part of our legacy that the government has manufactured for us.

Many will say, it is real easy to get food stamps, others say it is the illegals.  No matter, it is 48 million people that owe their existence to the government of the United States, because the country can not provide gainful jobs for them.

Welcome to the new world of government slavery.  Freedom and independence leave when one has to rely on the dole to live.

One in five children hungry……. hardly.  Because they are considered in poverty, they are considered hungry.  What an ugly label to put on someone.

The message implies that the parent is incompetent.  Talk about a shameful label.

White House Dictator…. a wanna be

There has been all types of discussion about the shutdown of government.  Yes it is a political show but there is also something bigger, individual freedom is at stake and so many miss that.
Freedoms are lost by laws passed and that includes taxes.  When the taxpayer is working to support a government that returns nothing a gaffe rolls out.  The population is hooked or they lash back and things get ugly.
The Healthcare act carries so many new taxes, the regulators could get to the point of confiscating all of ones income for taxes.  Very little about the taxing latitude of the regulators has been discussed.  When the bureaucracy has the ability to tax without congressional approval, there is danger.  look at what the bureaucrats did in the last election, what do you think they really want.
Right now if the Healthcare act is not stopped and the debt ceiling is not held, the populace will be at the vagaries of the government.  The executive branch will control the country and no longer will the halls of congress have any impact.
Look at all of the executive orders Obama has been issuing and there have not been any uproar about it until this shutdown.
Ugly as it sounds, if Obama wins, one just as well start getting used to living under a single ruling empower and congress just as well go home.  The Healthcare act gives so much power to the executive branch and along with the Patriot Act, the President has extensive powers with no congressional check.
Like it or not, if the Republicans cave into the President, the country has been lost and the change Obama wanted will be locked in, Marxism.
Yes we’ve been bellyaching at the politicians for the shutdown, but there is a bigger issue then political gain.  Look at how the different government agents have been treating the general population.  Throwing people out, locking people out, arresting people, and it is almost a police state.  That is scary how these people are acting on the White House orders.
Understand why the constitution has been so ferociously attacked the present ruling democrats.  It about people control,
The Democrats want to destroy the Republicans so bad, they will destroy the US in the process.  So hope the Republicans will stand their ground, for me and for you.
Forget about politics, look at what is really at stake….

Headlines

Ronal Regan was called the teflon President, because they said nothing stuck to him.  Obama is going to have to be called the kelvar president, for he hasn’t even been wounded by the bullets that have been hurled at him.

There was Benghazi, then the IRS and NSA plus the economy is sour.  There are other smaller bullets flying but they seem to fall on the ground.  Lots of talk but very little action.

Each week different stories are brought up but not much happens.  Read where the people at Benghazi had to sign non=disclosure statements.  That in and of itself is an indictment of the administration that said it would be transparent.  So much for being forthcoming to the public they are supposed to serve.

Crooks, tend to hide behind mis-directed statements and twist things to give themselves favorable light.

How many people have you heard of being fired from the IRS?  There should have been no question about terminating the people that violated the trust of the public.  There should have been suspension of pay for numerous administrators in the IRS.  If there are no consequences to the people that abused their position in the IRS, what is to prevent others from doing the same.

The NSA stuff, one can lay at the feet of Bush.  It came from the Patriot Act passed after 9/11.  Then the Republicans voted to continue the Act just a few years ago.

The Patriot Act, almost gives the administration dictatorial powers.  It is probably one scariest pieces of legislation Congress has ever passed.  Look how the present President has abused this power.

The most visible part of this was the TSA people in the airports and look how many of them mis-behaved.

Yet the president lets things roll along, by saying nothing he consents to these different abuses of the public he was elected to serve.

Right now a race war is on the back burner.  So far has been calm, but for how long.

What is really sad is how many Democrats are in denial of how their President is mis-behaving.

Yes, kelvar president is pretty good.

The Alien Worker

Here so much about illegal immigration any more, makes me wonder if there is a solution.  Personally I doubt it, for there are so many benefits to both sides.  It does make good political hay for whomever the speaker is.

One of the things people say is the alien worker works for less and does jobs the local worker don’t want.  That is blowhard verbiage by whomever.

Look at what an employee at the local mart makes.  Pat starts around 10 bucks an hour up to 15 bucks.  Keep it simple, yes I will.  $10.00 for the employee and $8.00 for the illegal.

At 8 bucks the illegal makes more money then the employee.  Taxes are withheld, roughly 25% with a take home of $7.50/hr.  So the alien is making $.50/hr. more.  They pay no taxes on income under the table.  Second the employer gains also.  The employer does not have to match unemployment taxes or Social Security payment.  Those combined ad an additional $2.00 the employer has to pay out.

Not even going to address health insurance.

So for the employer, there is big money to be made by using illegal aliens.  They pay less for labor and have less company expenses, in that there government paperwork is reduced.  A profit of $4.00/hr. per employee is nice revenue.  On 10 people it would net out at an extra $40.00/hr., $320.00/day, $2240.00/week.

Just the economics of hiring illegals becomes very appealing.  Also the company with illegals can also do work for less, beating out the competition.

Now if I could work and not pay taxes, I could live pretty good.  I would take some of those menial jobs the illegals take.  Oh I would still pay the consumption taxes, gas, excise, sales, etc.  The illegals also pay that on what they buy in the states.

Talking with a friend and asked her if she would like a raise of about $250.00 a month.  Her eyes lit up and she said the extra income would be nice.  I said if taxes were cut, you would get a small raise of about that amount.  Her face went blank then a big question mark popped on.  She did not grab the connection between the tax cut and a pay raise.

So when I listen to the debate on immigration I roll around the economics of the debate and how taxes plays such a role.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the IRS was repealed.  Then we all could work like aliens and make money to keep.

Things WE Approve Of

Read the other day that the president's approval rating was over 60%.  That’s higher then his reelection margin was.  Couple of things strike me, what are we approving and is it a real poll.

To approve what the president is doing indicates what the society wants from the government.

As a society we say that it is okay to have high unemployment, low job creation and an expanding poor class of citizenry.  There are now over 50 million people on food stamps, poverty, and I don’t know how many of welfare.  As a country, this is what the majority of citizens that live in it want, a growing lower class of citizens, a shrinking middle class.

The citizens also approve of the violation of the law.  Recently the courts stated that Obama had violated the Constitution.  He has been accused of that numerous times.  Look at illegal immigration, the buzz topic now.

Then there is the use of executive order, getting the bureaucracy to make regulations that impose a burden on business.  One of the biggest complaints of business is the excess rules and regulations.

Then there is the healthcare.   So many want from the government yet who will pay.  The fat cats, the super rich will be taxed at a higher rate.  60% of the citizens approve of higher taxes.

They also approve of belittling the republican party.  It is okay to demonize others but don’t say anything about me.  It is amazing what people approve of.

So really what does one approve of.

Is it really 60% of the people that approve of Obama’s job.  Do people really like to see others out of work.  Do they like to see people falling into poverty.  Do they like to pay higher taxes so a few can get richer.

DSCN3251 (1024x762)

Does the media like to twist data around so that people are  glorified at the expense of others while demonizing others.  Why has the media become so hateful.

To me it is embarrassing to see so many people out of work and subsisting on the government dole.  The richest country in the world can not help its citizens find work, help create jobs.

This is the third recession I’ve lived through.  It is also the longest.  Even under Jimmy Carter the turn down only lasted a couple of years.  And then when the next president tried a stimulus it did not work.  Then the government has not been very successful in moving the economy.  Something politicians can't get a handle on.

So What is it we really are approving, poverty and a down trodden society….. is that the legacy you want.

The Control of Laws

So many people are up in arms over gun control.  But is it really about controlling guns.  Think again, Laws do not control inanimate objects.  Laws control the people that use these objects.

Most universal example in the laws governing speed of vehicles.  Do speeding laws keep cars from going to fast or slow.  No the laws are designed to keep the vehicle operator within certain boundaries.  The laws are about people control.

Do these laws prevent cars from driving to fast?  No, The car has no idea of what to slow or fast is.  The law is aimed at the driver, to control the driver’s behavior.  The law tells the driver if he violates the law there will be consequences.  Does the law prevent the driver from going to fast?  Even if the consequences are loss of operators license, do the vehicles operate within the law.

If a person does not want to obey the law, they will use excuses to justify their behavior of violating laws.

So how effective are laws in preventing certain behaviors?

Look at driving.  How many are in jail for vehicular manslaughter.  Most have had previous convections of driving to fast, driving while impaired and operating without a driver’s license.

Based on that I would say that the laws to control vehicle operation have not been real successful.  Just drive down the roadway, watch the erratic behavior of some drivers.  Yet there are laws to prevent that behavior.

Most laws that are passed are failures.  Think you could get a lawmaker to admit that?

th

So what prevents certain behavior in people.  Does the removal of inanimate objects stop certain behaviors?  From time immemorial man has violated other man in some form or other.  Why is it that all people do not violate others.  They can drive a car, have no problems and operate it with courtesy.

It is an inner motivation for caring for others.  It is not controlled by laws, it is an internal compass that has evolved over their growth in life.  Many were tutored in Christian values that arise out of the Ten Commandments.

There is nothing that says they have to obey these rules, it has become their choice to follow these rules.

Ex 20:13 “You shall not murder. z
Ex 20:14 “You shall not commit adultery. a
Ex 20:15 “You shall not steal. b
Ex 20:16 “You shall not give false testimony c  against your neighbor. d
Ex 20:17 “You shall not covet e  your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

These are from the book of Exodus, (NIV).

God knew his creation would make mistakes and he provided consequences for those mistakes.  His rules were not meant to prevent a certain behavior.  Rather provide a guideline on how to live with others.

Look at the last commandment, I starts, “You Shall Not covet.”  What does covet mean?

Does it mean the government can take you property, through taxes, consequences or by law if they do not like how you behave?

Now look at of the laws that have been passed by this country that are designed to control you behavior?  Have any of them prevented you from behaving in a certain manner?  What has prevented you from behaving in certain ways?

Laws are the most oppressive form of government available to mankind.

God gave man 10 commandments, then later added a few rules, which became known as Mosaic Law.  Later the Jews started what was called the Torah.    Look how oppressive that became to the Hebrews.  And did that really stop the Hebrews from acting in their chosen manners.

As laws are passed, your freedoms are lost.  Your choices are eliminated.  Even taxes limit your freedoms.  When you pay taxes, what choices do you have?  You have only one choice, give your money to the government.

IMGP6574

Laws no no boundaries, they apply to all equally.  Whether you are right or left, the law applies the same.  Many laws are like abandoned buildings, not much use any more but they are there t control people.  The 20th Amendment is the best example of people control.  Look what happened?  What gun control laws would of prevented the speakeasy era of the 1920’s.

I would like to see a 100% prevention rider on laws that it would prevent people from acting crazy.  If lawmakers want a control law, give me a 100% guarantee.

Attractions of the Roadside

Roadside Attraction

Overlooking the valley is an oxymoron of a roadside attraction Built in the era of late 1910.  The horseless carriage was taking to center stage and the American traveler was being born.  Highways were being built to accommodate this new machine.  Boundaries were being broken and the country was prosperous.  There were numerous noveau rich living the American dream.  World War one was on the horizon, Marx and communism were popular and the world was an oyster for many.

Jump in the car, travel cross country, see the wonders.  No longer was tourism limited to the rich.  The automobile had opened up new vistas for the peasants of the land.  Onto the new highways in their new fangled contraptions the populace jumped.

DSCN2960 (1024x768)

Many a business sprung up along side highways.  Giving the wearied traveler a brief respite, place to refresh. gas up, eat and spend money.  It was wide open country free of many modern restrictions.

Conversation in coffee shops on the college campuses was about Marx and his ideal dream.  People were discussing on campus how to impose this dream on their countries.  Meanwhile WWI breaks out and the dream is put on the back burner except in Russia where Lenin and the Bolsheviks bring the communism revolution.  Even in the USA there was a small attempt to bring communism to the country.  WWI slowed it down as did the prosperity after the war.

People had money to spare, there was land so there was no need to overthrow the evil empire of capitalism.  Jump in the car, go visiting.  After WWI there was a new affluence for the average person surplus income to spend lavishly, in particular on the new automobile.

The roaring 20’s floated in, flappers, speak easies, gangsters and the car.  It was a buoyant age

DSCN2962 (1024x768) Federal Government policy built the Interstate highway system bypassing many a roadside business and pushing cars onto to super slab cross country speedways.

On the highways a new enterprise was cropping up, the roadside attraction, and a place to separate the new tourist from their money.

Communism went to the back burner in the US but the tyranny in Russia was just beginning.  The people’s party, Bolsheviks were ruling with an iron fist.  Churches were destroyed and people disappeared that opposed the new Russian regime.  A new ruling class was formed in Russia.

More and more automobiles were being built in the US.  More and more people were acquiring money.  The 20’s were a golden age to be in.  Then 1929 showed up because of a government boondoggle and greed on the part of a few.

What had been a golden period became a depression leading into the dirty 30’s and communism reared its head again.  There were also numerous government programs leading to the claim of socialism, kind of a polite name for communism.

DSCN2967 (1024x768)

All the time people were still traveling cross country seeing the sights it had to offer.

Godless Democrats

Godless Democrats

If you want to watch God leave the United States, Watch the Democrats.  They are the big ones pushing to rid the country of God.  At their national convention, the Democrats left God out of the Democratic platform.  The Democrats wanted to be a Godless political party.

Some people wanted to put God back into the party platform and were able to bring it up for a convention vote.  The anti-God people tried to shout them down, and keep God out of the Democratic platform.  By a narrow margin God stayed in the platform of the democrats.  Yet the very idea that God had been sidelined by the powers that be in the Democratic platform is dis-heartening.

Look at the Democrats over time.  The ACLU has been in the forefront of filling lawsuits to remove God from Government.  The so called Christian Democrats have said nothing to the ACLU to stop.  Next are the atheists, again the professed Christian Democrats have not spoken up.  Then there is the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

DSCN2037 (768x1024)

The Christian Democrats have issues, if they are Christian.  They need to start speaking up or form another political party.  For the aim of the powers that be in the Democratic hierarchy is to kick God under the bus.

A vote for a Democrat is a vote to kick God to the curb.  They don’t like to hear this but there is a reality of what transpired at the national convention.  There is also the reality of the ACLU.  So many democrats dismiss these and come up with excuses.  Well excuses are not acceptable.  You vote Democrat, you have voted to deny God.

If you don’t like Republicans, that is fine but at least vote for God not the Godless demagogues.

Jobs….. Where they Gone to?

Headed down the road the other day and passed some blade trucks and there were some pulling off the road.  So rather then waiting for them, I paused and took some pictures of them.  The trucks they haul these big blades on are amazing.

IMGP5707 (1280x850)

Look at the rear wheels on the trailer, they are steerable.  The driver in the cab has a joy stick to turn the rear trailer wheels.  Used to be someone in the pilot car would jump out and steer the wheels.  Long load….. over 90 feet long.

IMGP5708 (1280x850)

While that set of blades was turning off the Interstate this set was parked on another highway.  They are from a different factory going to another hot air farm.

IMGP5718 (1280x850)

On down the road the first group goes.  On to the farm road and up the hill to the ridge where they will be planted.

There are times this components are shipped by rail.  There are specialized cars for hauling them by rail because of their length and other pieces because of their weight.

DSCN1659 (1024x669)

Besides the hot air fans there are other bits and pieces necessary to get things moved around.  These huge transformers are super heavy.  One guy said there were 92 tires on the truck that hauled it.  A whole bunch of weight.

DSCN1338 (1280x953)

Then there all the new high power transmission lines necessary to haul it to the big city.

The IMGP5268 (1024x671)

The fans, they stretch out for miles across the prairie.  First group was about 120, next group about 90 and the new group over 200.

The prairie is becoming cluttered.  It was bad enough with houses, out buildings, fences then utility lines.  Now it is monster size stuff popping up.

Watching all this involves lots of people, from the manufacture of electrical parts and the mounting structures to the land siteing.

So why is there such a problem with high unemployment.  This government money was supposed to take care of the problem.  What am I missing?

One thing, most of these things are foreign made or owned by companies based out side of the US.

Mitsubishi, Siemens, Vestas and GE are the big names for manufacturing these things.  They are made overseas or owned by off shore companies.  Side note…. The Obama people are complaining about Romney’s money being off shore.  Guess where our tax money is going.

Electricity generated by these windmills cost about .04cents compared to about .01cents for coal generated electricity.  When the tax credits for the windmills is dropped they will sit on the prairie collecting dust because of the expense.  The government mandate requires that utilities use 10% green energy, IE wind power being alleged green energy.  When the utilities meet their 10% they discontinue wind power.

So I look at the windmills and wonder why the jobs aren’t there?

They government can mess things up but have a hell of a time fixing things because of the politics of reelection and other stuff.

Just wish we would stop going to the government to fix little things.  We pull ourselves out of recessions when left alone and the government stays out of the way and uses sensible regulations that favor no one.

I hope the windmills become an icon of how boneheaded we become when it comes to electing out political leaders.

Damm People

Yep, that’s what I said…… dam damm dam people.   Someone goes on a shooting spree and kills some people and out of the wood work crawl the anti gun people.

Laws do not change behavior, they provide consequences.  Even the consequences do not stop behavior.

For centuries people have been killing people and all kinds of laws have been passed and people still kill other people.

IMGP4717 (1024x680)

We live in a world full of evil people and this will not change.  So why do the anti-gun people think if they act like god’s and pass laws against guns the killing will stop.  It is one of the most stupid assumptions.

On to their god box they jump, telling people they will be safer if guns are outlawed.  What a myth.

It is very simple…… The Constitution says the citizens of the United States have the right to bear arms.  There are no restrictions in the Second Amendment.  Yet lawmakers have compromised on  this amendment to shut up the cry babies.  None of these gun laws have stopped the killings.

Because of these compromises the Constitution is slowly eroding into oblivion.  When are a few people gonna stand up and tell the cry baby liberals……. NO…… emphatic…… NO.

Hey… got me two cents.

Have a good week.

Earth…. Terra Firma

Earth Day has came and went.  In the little home town burg it was not even noted.  I only remembered  it because I read about it from others.  What does Earth Day mean any more?

IMGP5405 (680x1024)

Forever the landscape changes.  Man moves and rearranges the shapes and Nature battles back to reclaim the changes.  Pyramids, monuments to these changes.  Man’s quest for immortality.

Raging torrents, smoke, flames soar over the sky.  Remodeling at work.

Litter used to be a bane, nowadays it is part of the landscape.  Have the environmentalists went to far and lost sight of daily life.  Even in the little burg there should have been a simple litter pick up.  Has the battle over global warming… oops I mean climate change pushed the little things off the table.  As we litter it points to bigger problems of pollution.  There is lots of indifference in society today in regards to the environment that we live in.

Like many things greed sets in and no longer is the cause noble, it has become a green chase for big bucks.

IMGP5472 (1280x850)

People today, walk into their home, flip the switch and expect the light to turn on.  Turn the television on, check the mail on the computer, play e-games, cook on a stove and the list of gadgets goes on that we expect to be powered.

No longer does one have to render the tallow and make candles, find oil for the lamp, gather wood for the stove.

Is man willing to give up this lifestyle and turn the clock back over 100 years and have to gather all the little necessities to live by.  Overheard a comment, he wanted the land returned to the way it was 100 years ago.  Thought to my self, wonder if would be willing to be a lemming and jump off the cliff.

There were only 100’s living back then, not millions.  Lots of people would have to die to return the land to the way it was a 100 years ago.

Yet the earth needs to be tended to and taken care of.  Not jawboned about something that is maybe.  Stewardship of the earth is not easy and the reality of things need to be looked at not imagined things or in theory.

There is but one earth to live on.

Going Nuclear

There have been a couple of stories that I have read recently that caught my interest.  The surprising one is Bill Gates promoting nuclear power.  The other is the a nuclear process developed by the TVA back in the 50’s.

Bill Gates being a liberal, one would think he would be very anti nuclear.  Instead he is pro nuclear.  He sees electricity as one of the key elements in the Third World’s development.  Low cost electricity for developing/poor countries is very critical, as he sees it.  Looking at that, one can see how it would affect the creation of jobs and how poor people live.  Even in the USA, utility bills impact the poor and elderly.  Good low cost energy is critical for all people involved and Bill Gates sees this in the development of a new nuclear process.

The process that the TVA developed was put into moth balls and the back shelf, as a result it was forgotten about.  Probably some political skullduggery involved.

The TVA process used an isotope that had a life of about 100 years and very little by product.  Disposal was not a problem for in a 100 years it would be harmless.

With these things I wonder why nuclear power is not in use more.  What nuclear power plants that are in use today are very efficient and produce a low cost product.  Surprising, the USA gets about 25% of its electricity from nuclear power plants.  Then there is the Navy, how many of their ships are nuclear powered I’m not sure, but I would venture a guess that it is a vast majority.  The carriers and submarines are the most oblivious.  I see the spent cores from some passing through here on the railroad occasionally.

But why are so many people anti nuclear?  First thing that comes to mind are the bombs dropped on Japan, WWII.  Then there have been the accidents in the past that have caused some problems.  Then there are the anti mind set people.  If one side of the fence is for something this group will come out against it.

This small group of anti people create lots of problems for being such a small minority.  As a result things tat could be of great benefit to society is ignored because they raise such a ruckus.

IMGP5303 (1024x680)

One of the anti groups, the Sierra Club, bragged on their web page they had stopped over a 100 coal fired power plants.  That is a lots of lost electrical power generation. If your electrical rates are going up, this is one of the reasons.  And, Yes Coal is dirty, but there is a scientist who has developed a process to clean up coal fired plants.  The anti people do not want to hear this, they do not encourage his research.  There are others out there doing similar research but the anti groups cloud things in legal lawsuits.

As I look at the costs these anti groups are causing to consumers, it becomes frustrating.  For this anti mind set is part of the reason Nuclear power is so frowned on.  Yet in nuclear power there appears to be some hope.  With the proper mind set it could probably be developed and used in a safe manner.

It would be nice to see the anti people try to help society rather then being a hindrance.

IMGP5305

One of the things that has happened is the power companies are switching to natural gas to keep the nay sayers off their back.  This is also pushing up the cost of energy.  Everything that is produced in the US is rising in cost because of the rising energy prices.  People focus on the price of gasoline, as that increases so does the utilities increase.

Jobs are lost, homes are lost and people tend to become poorer because of rising energy costs.

So is nuclear the answer, only partial but it should be looked at.  Particularly after the calamity of the tsunami in Japan.  There were problems at their plants but they were fixable and life goes on.

Look at how many nuclear power plants that are operatizing in the United States.

Rather then being so negative, the anti people need to become part of the solution rather then being s problem.

Wind power is 30-50 years in the future and is not reliable.  Solar is someplace in its infancy and it is also not reliable.

Overheard a comment from a nay sayer, "Return the land to where it was a 100 years ago.”  Wonder if he realizes how many people would have to die to get the land back to how was 100 years ago and what all would have to be destroyed.

Stewardship of the environment is a major job.

On the Backroads

In my travels from here to there, I prefer to take the back roads, time permitting.  Lots of small gems pop up and then there is the clutter of civilization.  Over the years things have changed, like it or not.  When my grandparents homesteaded, there was no such thing as electricity or indoor plumbing.  Today it is expected for any and all homes.

What had been open country, dotted by a few trees, scrub brush and rolling hills.  Is now dotted with utility lines and homes.

IMGP5248 (1024x676)

The barn and corral make a nice pastoral scene but right there in front is the utility pole.  Place for a yard light and lights in the barn.  Until the REA came around it was kerosene/oil lamps to light the way.

Electricity has had a major impact on the way one lives their life.  It powers our homes, heats it, fuels jobs, a level of security and lights the darkness.  Without electricity I would not be posting this blub.  What started out as small generating plants for communities to large power complexes.

From what had been a pastoral scene to now a cluttered horizon.  They stand there whooshing in the breeze.  Electricity flows off the wind in someone’s pocket book.  I turn on the computer and hear a slight swoosh.

What’s interesting is the jealousy these things have created.  Just a few people get money from these giant erector sets.  The neighbors that have none, want some and they gripe about the neighbors that have some.

Oh the price of electricity has went up but it appears to of created another type of class warfare.  A struggle among the classes that has been going on for centuries.  The ones that perceive themselves as having nothing and envying those that appear to be rich.

Sop when I look out across the plains, no longer to I see the follies of man spinning but I see their struggles to live within themselves.  Envy is a bitter pill to live with yet so many harbor it.

A bitterness that cascades across the rolls of life.

Now where did my barn get off to.
